Race to the hill, rack by rack

Run your pool league like a bar circuit

From the Thursday-night bar league to the 9-ball hill-hill final, BallOBall runs the whole pool season — every match a race to N frames, the break, the break-and-run, the safety battle, and the ball-in-hand foul all logged from the rail, a frames-won table that ranks the league correctly, and a fan page on the wall above the table. Hand the scorekeeper a tablet and let the race reach the hill.

One engine, tuned to Pool

The whole platform re-skins to Pool — labels, scoring, period structure, and brand accent all follow the sport.

  1. 01

    Frames are the score

A pool match is a race to N — first to the frame target takes it. Tap a frame won and the race count and the hill move together, and the standings count it once the match goes final; everything else (break, safety, foul) is logged for the story of the rack without touching the scoreline. The hill-hill decider is handled.

  2. 02

    Break-and-runs & run-outs

Tap the break-and-run that clears the table from the snap, or the run-out from the opponent’s miss, and it lands in the box score as a frame marker. After the night, a player sees their break-and-run count across every frame — the stat that separates the shooters.

  3. 03

    Safeties & fouls

The safety battle and the ball-in-hand foul are logged as they happen, so a scratch on the 8 and a kick-safe duel read correctly in the play-by-play. The tactical frame is on the record, not in someone’s memory at the bar.

  4. 04

A frames table, not a win grid

Played, Won, Lost, Win %, Frames For, Frames Against, and Frame Difference — sorted so the league ranks by matches won with frame difference as the tiebreak. A 5–0 shutout and a 5–4 hill-hill grind read differently in the standings, exactly as they should.

It really speaks the sport

A Pool console & table — not a spreadsheet

The scorekeeper buttons and the standings columns below are exactly what Pool gets — generated from the sport engine, not a generic grid.

The full Pool operation

From the first fixture to the broadcast scorebug — every surface your Pool league runs on, built in.

  • Bar leagues & knockouts

Run a multi-bar league as a round-robin division, or a straight knockout with the Tournaments module. Conflict detection warns when a team or a room is double-booked; you assign the tables and the time slots, so two matches never get racked on the same table at once.

  • Rail-first scoring

Big touch targets for every pool event — frame won, break, break-and-run, run-out, safety, foul — driven from the rail by one tablet. Offline-tolerant for back-room bars with no signal, undo any frame, and every frame is pushed to the wall.

  • Table overlays

A pool-themed scorebug with the race box (race to 7), the live frame count, and a break-and-run ticker — one browser source into OBS for the hill-hill final on the TV above the table. The scorekeeper drives the graphics; no separate operator.

  • League fan pages

Every league can publish a branded public page with live frames, the rack-by-rack feed, the standings, and a break-and-run leaderboard. No login — players just open the page and follow the race to the hill.

Why operators switch

What Pool leagues get

  • Race-to-N

    The hill, handled

First to the frame target wins — race to 5, race to 7, hill-hill at the end. The period model follows the rack, not a generic four-quarter clock, so the table never asks for a fifth quarter.

  • 8 & 9

    8-ball or 9-ball, same table

Whether the league shoots 8-ball, 9-ball, or 10-ball, the frame is the unit and the race is the match — the same scoring model runs every format without a per-game branch.

  • 0

    Chalk-marks on the slate

Replace the chalkboard tally, the group chat, and the hand-counted frame sheet with one tablet that scores, ranks the league, and runs the stream at once.
