Seven innings, every run counted

Run your softball league with a real box score

From the leadoff at-bat to a walk-off in the bottom of the seventh, BallOBall keeps the whole diamond — a true R/H/E line score, an at-bat-by-at-bat play log, hitting and pitching leaderboards built from the events your scorekeeper taps, and a broadcast-grade fan page. Runs cross the plate one tap at a time, hits and errors never inflate the score, and the box score balances itself.

One engine, tuned to Softball

The whole platform re-skins to Softball — labels, scoring, period structure, and brand accent all follow the sport.

  1. 01

    Run-accurate live scoring

A run is the only thing that moves the scoreline — tap it as each runner scores and the score moves on the tablet and the overlay together. Singles, doubles, triples, and home runs log as hits without double-counting; the RBI that drove the run is recorded separately, so the scoreboard always tells the truth.

  2. 02

    R / H / E line score

The classic runs-hits-errors line builds itself inning by inning across the seven-inning game. Every half-inning closes cleanly, the visitor and home columns stay in sync, and the line reads exactly like the one posted on the diamond board.

  3. 03

    Sabermetrics for the diamond

AVG, OBP, SLG, and OPS for hitters; ERA and WHIP for pitchers — all derived from the at-bats, walks, and outs your scorekeeper already logs. The advanced numbers are computed live, with no spreadsheet and no post-game data entry.

  4. 04

    Seven innings, extras handled

Regulation is seven, but a tie keeps playing — the inning model rolls into extra frames automatically and the console relabels each inning correctly past the seventh. No mental math at the table, no generic quarter clock on a game that has no clock.

It really speaks the sport

A Softball console & table — not a spreadsheet

The scorekeeper buttons and the standings columns below are exactly what Softball gets — generated from the sport engine, not a generic grid.

The full Softball operation

From the first fixture to the broadcast scorebug — every surface your Softball league runs on, built in.

  • Schedules & tournament brackets

Round-robin seasons, weekend doubleheaders built by hand, and — with the Tournaments module — single- or double-elimination tournament brackets: the bread and butter of rec and travel softball. Conflict detection warns when a team or a field is double-booked, you set first pitch and the time slots, and a rained-out doubleheader is postponed and re-slotted by hand, with the standings untouched until it is played.

  • Tablet-first scorekeeper

Big touch targets for every diamond event — run, single, double, triple, home run, walk, strikeout, out, RBI, stolen base, error, substitution. Undo any at-bat, tolerate a dead spot in the outfield, and every play is pushed to the overlay.

  • Broadcast scorebug & overlays

A softball-themed scorebug with the count and inning, a batter lower third, and the R/H/E line as a break card — one browser source into OBS. The scorekeeper drives the graphics from the same tablet; no separate operator needed at the table.

  • Team fan pages

Publish the league and every team gets a branded public page with the live line score, the at-bat feed, the standings, and batting-average and ERA leaderboards. No login — parents, college recruiters, and supporters just follow the game from any phone.

What Softball leagues get

  • 7 innings

Seven innings, and no timeout row

Regulation is seven innings, not nine — and softball is played without requested team timeouts, since a charged conference is an umpire's visit limit rather than an allowance a board should count. So a softball scoreboard leaves the timeouts block off the air entirely, and the broadcast lineup card fills nine fielders from a position list of ten: P through RF, plus the designated player.

  • OPS-ready

    Advanced stats, zero data entry

OPS, ERA, and WHIP fall out of the play-by-play automatically, so the recruiting-grade stat line that used to take a spreadsheet is live by the final out.

  • 0

    Clipboards at the bench

Replace the paper scorebook, the group chat, and the post-game stats email with one tablet that scores the game, builds the box, and runs the stream at once.
